I MET MARK TODD! TATTERSALLS 2017

As you can probably guess, I was more than a little excited.

I quite literally ran. I don’t run. Ever.

We had made the 104 mile trip down to Tatts to watch the cross country on the Saturday. It was great – we went to the shopping village, I took part in a dog show with Cody, and we were having a really good time. Even got an icecream. But the highlight of the day was, of course, meeting and talking to Mark Todd.

I, like most, have grown up watching this fantastic rider tackle the biggest and scariest tracks with ease. So when he was casually cycling across the course, of course I had to go grab a photo (and an autograph). If he wasn’t cool enough already, after taking a photo with me he then took a photo with my dogs. Yep, my dogs.

Of course, Poppy wouldn’t co-operate and get in shot. Luckily mum snapped one too of all three of them in the picture.

We spent the rest of the day watching the XC, seeing Oliver Townend, Piggy French, Pippa Funnel and local irish riders tackle the 3*** course. When the day was over, spectators were allowed onto the course – those jumps are massive up close. Honestly you do not appreciate how huge they are until you’re standing beside them (or put a yorkie on top).

This was the worst blog post I have ever written. But I was a little too excited and the rest of the day seems like a complete blur haha.
